Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE. Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC), Arnold AFB TN intends to award a sole source contract to Princeton Instruments, 3660 Quakerbridge Road, Trenton NJ 08619 for two (2) PhotonMax:512B EMCCD Camera System. These cameras consist of the following: Imaging Sensor: 512 x 512-pixel array, back illuminated, frame-transfer CCD array. Operate with or without on-chip multiplication gain. At least 200,000 e-full well potential. Quantum efficiency greater than 90% from at least 500 nm to 700 nm. Camera Head: Air-cooled thermoelectric cooling of CCD to -80 degree C held within +-0.05 degree C without liquid cooling and without an external power supply that could introduce noise. No mechanical shutter, effective exposure times less than 3 msec. Guaranteed vacuum performance over the lifetime of the camera. Acquisition: 16-bit digitization operating at 1, 5, or 10 MHz with 8 to 55 rms electrons read noise typical depending upon speed and use of multiplication gain. Use of either traditional or EMCCD readout. Resultant dynamic range greater than 214. Precise on-chip multiplication gain software controlled in 4096 steps. Frame rates of at least 30 frames per second with 16-bit digitization. Ability to bin pixels to increase frame rate and increase signal to noise ratio. Controller: Controller is to be housed on board with the camera. Connects to PC via supplied PCI card. Versatile triggering and control: programmable TTL inputs allow system to be triggered by different sources. Programmable TTL outputs allow system to trigger different sources, for instance synchronized with the camera shutter signal. Circular buffer allows near real-time focus mode. Software: WinView/32 and SITK-Basic-LABVIEW based acquisition and control software. Miscellaneous: 2F- to C-mount lens adapters. Estimated delivery will be 60 days after contract award. This synopsis is approved for a sole source contract action as authorized in FAR 6.302-1 (supplies or services are considered to be available from only one source). No solicitation package will be issued. However, all interested sources may identify their interest but must provide proof of capability to provide an acceptable product by submitting pricing data, an accurate description of the equipment offered, and make and model numbers of the equipment. Only responses containing this data will be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Award will not be made on the basis of responses received to this synopsis. If no favorable responses are received by close of business (4:00 PM CST) 8 September 2006, a contract will be negotiated with the above named source.
