Description

00HCTBDC-2006-33585 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)/ National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH), intends to award, on a sole source basis, a purchase order to the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene (WSLH) ? Environmental Health Division, 2601 Agriculture Drive, P.O. Box 7996, Madison, WI 53707-7996. The WSLH will provide lot number specific samples of bovine blood (70% of units containing lead-dosed blood and 30% undosed). Minimum of 20 units (800 mL units) per year. Two animals have been designated for program purposes, allowing the collection of up to 24 units (800 mL each) over the next 12 consecutive months. The dosing and collection activities are covered under approved Animal Care and Use Protocol #A00273. The need for lot number specific quantaties of bovine blood is required for ongoing CDC research work / studies, and mandates the acquisition from the WSLH to maintain continuity of effort, supplies, protocols, and most importantly, analytical results. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide lot number specific bovine blood samples are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 5 days of the publication date of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining to conduct a competitive procurement.
