Description

Maintenance Contract on NOAA Weather Radios EA133W-06-RQ-0851 The Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service in Albany, New York is issuing an intent to negotiate a sole source procurement with WMHT Education Telecommunications, for maintenance on the NOAA Weather Radios (WXL34). The contractor will furnish personnel, materials and equipment necessary to perform radio maintenance. Authority: 41 USC 253(c)(1). The NAICS Code is 515120, small business size standard is $12 million. The government intends to award a firm-fixed price purchase order for this requirement. The period of performance is October 1, 2006 through September 30, 2007 with (4) one-year option periods. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302(c)(1). WMHT Education Telecommunications is the only known source capable of performing the maintenance because the location is on a restricted site, accessible only by WMHT personnel and authorized Government representatives. Interested parties may identify their interest and must provide evidence of their capability to respond to this requirement by August 28, 2006. Responses to this notice, if any, must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the government. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
