Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate and award on a sole source purchase order utilizing simplified acquisition procedure to the National Research Council, 2101 Constitution Avenue, Washington, DC 20418. The period of performance is from date of award to September 30, 2007. The requirement consists of the following: 1. The contractor shall serve as the US national member of International Council for Laboratory Animal Science (ICLAS), which is concerned with the care and use of laboratory animals worldwide; 2. The Contractor shall encourage the education, training, and development of laboratory animal science and the exchange of information between countries for the betterment of animal care; 3. The contractor shall help developing countries improve laboratory animal care and the infrastructure of biomedical research; 4. The contractor shall seek to ensure the national policies of various countries do not become restrictive to the trade of products, developed by animal research in other countries; and 5. The contractor shall monitor laboratory animal availability, use, importation and exportation. This is not a formal solicitation, however, concerns that respond to this notice must furnish concise responses directed specifically to the requirements mentioned above. Sources demonstrating the capability to accomplish the above shall supply pertinent information in sufficient detail to demonstrate their ability to perform. Information furnish shall include enough material to perform a proper evaluation. Respondents will not be notified of the evaluation results.
