Description
The Navy intends to issue a firm fixed-price order under Globecomm Systems, Inc. BPA W91RUS-04-A-0012 to procure on a sole source basis one (1) each Antenna Trailer system consisting of the following subsytems: Antenna Subsystem, Redundant Ground Communications Equipment, Modem Subsystem, Monitor and Control Subsystem, and Universal Chassis System Platform. The system is transportable via a trailer and is rapidly deployable and operational in a short time frame. It includes all necessary satellite antenna and related communications electronics and environmental control equipment and is powered by either a fixed power source or by an external generator. The Antenna System will be used to provide on-site satellite reach-back communication capabilities to enhance incident command and control and is comprised of a number of different manufacturers pieces of brand name mandatory equipment that are configured into one operating system, which if purchased separately would have to be integrated and the system re-created. The Globecomm connectivity collaboration control system ensures interoperability with existing control systems and maintains the required configuration management, interoperability and interchangeability with previously procured and fielded systems. Use of Globecomm?s Antenna System also reduces the total lifecycle cost of the system by ensuring commonality between the existing systems thereby reducing the costs of training and maintenance and reduces the quantity of spare parts that need to be procured for these systems. No telephone responses will be accepted. POC for this synopsis is Contract Specialist Patricia Rivenbark. Responses to this synopsis should be faxed to 301-995-8193 or email to patricia.rivenbark@navy.mil!!
