APPL: TF33 ENGINES. Igniter exciter is a hermetically sealed housing equipped with electrical input and output connectors and provisions for mounting. The leads consist of convoluted conduit covered with wire braid. A single insulated stranded conductor within and protected by the conduit is terminated in electrical connectors which attach to the exciter and igniter plug. Function: is the direct current power from the airframe bus is converted to a high voltage, high energy pulsating current in the exciter. The leads conduct these pulses to the igniter plugs. The resultant arcs across the igniter plugs and ignite the fuel. Dimensions: APPROX 10.984 IN long X 6.531 IN wide X 2.640 IN depth. Material aluminum housing. TF33 engines. Destination is Tinker Air Force Base Ok 73145-3032. Delivery: 31 MAY 07. RANGE QUANTITIES: MIN: 6 EA MED: 9 EA MED, AND MAX 14 EA. Qualification requirements: Sources must be qualified prior to being considered for award. Only new manufactured material and/or new/unused surplus material are acceptable. The solicitation will contain instructions for obtaining further information on this requirement. The requirements of FAR 9.202(A) have been completed and copies of the qualification requirements and standards may be obtained as described in the solicitation. These qualification requirements apply to line item(s) 0001. The approximate issue date will be 29 AUG 2006. The anticipated award date will be 15 SEP 2006. This award is contingent on the availability of funds for 2007. Written procedure will be used for this solicitation. All responsible sources solicited may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered. Justification: Supplies (or Services) required are available from only one or a limited number of responsible source(s) and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Award will be made only if the offeror, the product/service, or the manufacturer meets qualification requirements at the time of award in accordance with FAR clause 52.209-1. The solicitation identifies the office where additional information can be obtained concerning qualification requirements as cited in each individual solicitation. It is suggested that small business firms or others interested in subcontracting opportunities in connection with the described procurement make contact with the firm(s) listed. Note: While price will be a significant factor in the evaluation of offers, the final contract award decision may be based upon a combination of price and past performance factors as detailed in the solicitation. This procurement will consider the Red-Yellow-Green Program ratings on FSCs in the evaluation of past performance. Note: An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
