- The 96th Contracting Squadron, 96 CONS/MSCBB at Eglin AFB, Florida intends to solicit, negotiate, and award a Firm-Fixed Price, Sole Source contract to SCI Technology Inc, Huntsville, AL for various data encoders with signal conditioning cards. This notice of intent utilizes FAR 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The announcement number is F1T0DD6156A100. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334419, with a small business size standard of 500 employees. Sole source justification: The required equipment has been acquired previously and has been adopted by both Eglin and Edwards AFB as the ?standard? instrumentation data collection system. Purchasing additional identical components to those currently in the inventory insures compatibility, commonality, and redundancy, as well as minimizes ground support infrastructure for configuration and testing. The components sought are required to be mechanically and electrically compatible with SCI Technology, Inc overhead chassis and inter-card electrical SCI MiniSeries communication protocol. SCI Technology is the only company capable of designing, developing, and manufacturing the equipment that meets the government?s requirements.
