It will provide knowledge to drive the optimization and formulation of decontamination solutions and approaches that may be more efficient, stable, environmentally friendly and faster against current and future threats. Boise has unique capabilities and experience that is required to define the characteristics by laser spectroscopy to develop a complete single unit system capable of producing the required data. The spectroscopy instruments required for the experiments are custom built devices comprised of multiple commercially available components such as lasers, optical benches, mounts, detectors, etc. Boise is the only source with the required expertise, instrumentation and data relating to the technology being developed to perform the system investigations and the data required is proprietary to Boise. Any other interested sources must currently possess the expertise, instrumentation and data in the decontamination techniques.
