Description

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a requirement for the Cold Stewardship Project, encompassing hazardous fuels management services in the South Steptoe Valley Watershed on the west side of the South Schell Creek Mountains near ELY, NV. The purpose of this contract is to provide services for forest and rangeland health through mechanically treating up to 521 acres of pinyon pine and juniper trees. It is the intention of the BLM to complete this project in the most cost effective manner. Note: All merchantable material to be removed will be purchased from the Government and paid for at the total offer values shown through either application of Conservation Credits earned or cash deposit. The contractor shall develop and submit a Treatment Plan and Schedule to accomplish the project objectives and organize and direct all of the equipment and personnel needed to fully accomplish the work. The Treatment Plan and Schedule will be agreed upon by both parties and incorporated into the contract. All changes to the Treatment Plan will be agreed to prior to the changes taking effect. The period of performance will begin on or about September 25, 2006 and continue for no more than 1 year form the effective start work date. This requirement is 100% set aside for small businesses under NAICS 115310. This solicitation will be available on or about August 10, 2006. A site visit has been scheduled for August 17, 2006 at 8:00 A.M. This site visit will be conducted concurrently with the Thirty Mile Sagebrush Restoration Stewardship Project - BLM Solicitation Number NAR060224. Participants will meet at the BLM Ely Field Office, 702 North Industrial Way, Ely, NV 89301. Potential offerors are to provide their own transportation (4WD is recommended) at no cost to the Government. The Government assumes no liability on behalf of offerors attending the site visit. Offerors intending to attend the site visit tour shall contact Cody Combs at (775) 289-1854 at least 48 hours before the scheduled site visit and advise him of the firm's name and number of persons that will attend. Potential offerors may obtain a copy of the solicitation at http://www.fbo.gov or http://ideasec.nbc.gov. No hard copies of the solicitation will be provided. Contractors must be registered at http://www.ccr.gov to be considered eligible for award. Proposals are due no later than August 25, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. Denver local time.
