Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) has a requirement to purchase a Vitrobot Vitrification Robot from FEI Company, 5350 NE Dawson Creek Drive, Hillsboro, OR 97124. The VitrobotTM (Vitrification Robot) is a fully PC-controlled device for vitrification (rapid cooling) of aqueous samples. The FEI Vitrobot Mark III Vitrification Robot is the only unit of its type, which is completely automated, including the important step of sample blotting in the humidity chamber. This automation will allow for sample production uniformity, thus saving time lost in trying to replicate by hand the exacting parameters of successful sample preparation. It also has the widest variety of programming options and the largest sample flexibility. The Vitrobot is standard delivered with a Phillips 15? LCD monitor, a slim-line keyboard, a mouse and a foot-pedal switch. Technical specifications: Weight ? 29kg; Dimensions (L x W x H) 423 X 183 X 894 mm; Air (pneumatics ? clean, dried air) 6-16 bar through 6 mm hose inlet; Power supply (voltage) 110-230V @ 50-60 Hz; Fuse 4 AT (110 V USA), 2 AT (230 V Europe); Power cable 90-250 V; Operating parameters Working Temperature 4-6 C (at an ambient temperature range between 18-25 C) Peltier controlled heating/cooling; Relative Humidity: Ambient humidity ? 100% (no condensation at RH< 85%) Ultrasonically controlled humidification. All responsible businesses that are capable of providing the Government with the item that is listed above may request a copy of the Request for Quote (RFQ) in writing or by FAX to 301-480-8501 to the Contracting Office prior to the closing date of this notice. It is anticipated that RFQ NIH-NIDDK-06-972 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is September 4., 2006. Request for copies of the RFQ must be submitted to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, 6707 Democracy Boulevard, Two Democracy Plaza, Room 774B, Bethesda, MD 20817 or via email: griffinv@mail.nih.gov to the Attention: V. Lynn Griffin. FAX quotations must contain offerors name, address, telephone number and fax number. FAX quotations will be accepted if dated and signed by an authorized company representative.
