Description
The Federal Protective Service (FPS) intends to solicit, negotiate and award a sole source contract to Motorola Inc., Columbia, MD. under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(i). Motorola Inc. shall provide maintenance and repair support for the FPS?s inventory of radio dispatch system equipment including Motorola Centracom Gold Elite dispatch systems, Motorola repeaters, Motorola Simulcast systems, Motorola trunk radio systems, Motorola Astrotac comparators, Motorola handheld radios and vehicle radios. The contractor will provide a 24x7 single-point-of-contact dispatch to repair/service FPS radio equipment (FPS repeater systems operate in 109 cities located in 34 states and the District of Columbia) and maintain an inventory system. The contractor shall provide a Technical Support Team to provide design/engineering and technical support to include three radio frequency (RF) technicians with extensive experience with Motorola Centracom Gold Elite systems and Motorola repeater and trunk radio systems, a RF engineer with expertise in engineering Motorola dispatch and repeater systems and a network engineer expert in voice-over-packet networks and Vanguard router technology. This synopsis is being published for information purposes only. Notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the government will consider any interest received within five (5) business days of the issuance of this notice. A determination by the government to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Contractors will be required to demonstrate that they have an extensive local service shop infrastructure, technicians capable of getting to FPS repeater sites within one hour in an emergency, infrastructure in place that can dispatch and track service technicians, a dispatch system integrated to the local service shop level and be able to provide the experience and expertise required for the Technical Support Team.
