- Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, Philadelphia, intends to procure services for shock testing of a Government-owned Deballast Air Compressor (DBAC), Dress Rand Model LAH-SP-AVP 8 X 16 1/2 on a sole source basis to Dresser Rand Company. The contractor shall perform heavyweight category shock testing in accordance with paragraph 1.2.1 of Military Standard MIL-S-901D, Shock Tests, H.I. (High-Impact) Shipboard Machinery, Equipment, and Systems, Requirements for; Dated 17 March 1989 upon a Government furnished Deballast Air Compressor. Shock testing criteria shall be: Grade A/Class I/Hull & Deck Mounted/Restricted Orientation (Long Axis of the equipment is parallel to the fore & aft axis of the ship). Prior to performing the shock tests, the contractor shall prepare, submit and receive approval on: a detailed shock test procedure in accordance with MIL-S-901D, Shock Test Procedure D1-ENVR-80709, Shock Test Report DI-ENVR-80708, Notification of Tests DI-T-23731, Data Sheet DI-ENVR-80710 and Engineering Drawings and associated Lists DI-E-7031. The test procedure shall be submitted to Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) for approval.
