Proposed Performance Objectives Sources Sought Notice 2006.241 1500 Tactical Water Purification System (TWPS) THIS IS A MARKET SURVEY SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE REQUESTING INFORMATION IN SUPPORT OF THE FOLLOWING POTENTIAL REQUIREMENT. No contract will be awarded from this announcement. This is NOT a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation, nor is it a request seeking contractors for placement on a solicitation mailing list. We are attempting to dete rmine industry capabilities to satisfy potential future modularity requirements. Response to this survey is voluntary and no reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this market survey and any follow-on information requests. Data submitted in response to this market survey will not be returned. No solicitation document exists at this time. 1. Description. The TWPS is the next generation water purification system that replaces the existing 600 GPH ROWPU. The TWPS will be used to purify a broad range of water sources such as fresh, brackish, salt and NBC contaminated water to meet water sup port requirements. The TWPS is comprised of: 1) a raw water system to automatically deliver source water to the purification system; 2) a water purification system to produce clean water; and 3) a distribution system to deliver clean water to assigned hol ding tanks for use as needed. The TWPS is capable of purifying, storing and dispensing water meeting Tri-Service Field Water Quality Standards for long term consumption. The TWPS includes potable water dispensing capability and interfaces with military fixed storage holding tanks. It is mounted on a LHSPLS compatible flat-rack and can be transported on a C-130 fixed wing aircraft 2. Yearly Requirement: 75 to 100 per year (approximately 7-10 years, depending upon funding availability) 3. Life Cycle Phase: Full Rate Production and Deployment (Fielding) 4. Key Performance Parameters (KPPs); " Produce potable water that meets the DOD tri service standards for field water quality from all surface and ground water sources, including NBC-contaminated sources, with a TDS concentration less than 60,000 mg/l and turbidity less than 150 NTU " Produce a minimum product water flow of 1500 GPH from water sources with less than 1,000 mg/L TDS and a minimum product water flow of 1200 GPH water sources with less than 45, 000 mg/L TDS " Mean Time between failure of not less than 120 hrs and mean time to repair for all unscheduled maintenance demands of less than one hour and maximum time to repair must be less than 2 hours for 90% of all essential unscheduled maintenance demands. 5. Unique Military Requirements (such as testing, DOD standards, etc.) " Nuclear Biological and Chemical contaminated waters coupled with RO desalination " Desalination of water " Meet MIL-STD-461 radiated emissions " Treatment of 150 Nephelometric Turbidity Units (NTUs) source water " Integrated continuous micro filtration/RO systems designed for mobile applications " Integrated cold weather kit for -25 deg F operation " Compatibility with PLS.LHS trucks and eternal airlift by helicopter " Meet DOD Tri-Service Field Water Quality Standards " Ocean Intake structure system for supply of raw water intake at beach sites The point of contact for this notice is Jason Gruber.
