- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY HAS A NEED FOR A SPECIAL PURPOSE LAW ENFORCEMENT CRAFT. The Special Purpose Craft ? LE (SPC-LE) vessels will be operated in varying sea and weather conditions, along the entire length of the borders of the United States and the Caribbean. Typical missions include locating, tracking and intercepting suspicious vessels entering U.S. waters. These vessels will be used for port security and to pursue suspect vessels for the purpose of boarding and searching and, when necessary, arresting the violators and seizing the vessel and/or contraband. This is a shore-based asset not intended for Cutter deployment. This vessel will be utilized by agencies within the Department of Homeland Security including Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Coast Guard and Border Patrol and may be deployed outside of the continental US. THE BASIC CHARACTERISTIC REQUIREMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: Length 36 ft (maximum) Beam, overall 9ft (minimum) Operational draft in full load condition (engines may be tilted at maximum up position while maintaining steering control of boat) 3 ft (maximum) Seating Permanently installed shock mitigating seating for 4 crew Passenger Capacity 6 passengers Boat height on trailer (fixed) 13 ft (maximum) Fully outfitted weight with trailer 18,000 lbs (maximum) SEE ADDENDUM FOR DETAILED SPECIFICATIONS. THE ANTICIPATED PROCUREMENT WILL BE SET ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS ONLY, UTILIZING THE APPLICABLE FSS/GSA SCHEDULE.
