Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Stratagene, La Jolla, California for a Mx4000 Multiplex Quantitiative PCR System. This Q-PCR equipment must satisfies the following critical criteria: (1) must read 96-well plate-compatable formats to allow complete compatibility with methods currently used in the laboratory with methods that can use with Q-PCR equipment. (2) must allow excitation and emision over the following minimal wavelength ranges: excitation range 350-750 nm; emission range 350-830 am. It must also use several dyes and multiple detection chemistries, such as Moleculare beacons, bydrolysis or TaqMan probes, SYBR green detection and other approaches/proves currently avialiable. (3) must allow detection of four dyes simultaneously includes By3, Cy5, FAM, HEX, TAMRA, Texas Red, ROX and TET at wavelenths that allow minimal overlap of excitation and emission bands and minimal spectral overlap between the dyes use. (4) must use for multiplex assays, the instrument must allow analysis of at least four reaction in the same well using filters or monochromators. (5) must provide the maximal sensitivity curently available on QpCR instruments. (6) some methods require equipment that has very small temperature variation across the 96-well plate. CDC believes that this requirement is met by only one provider. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 6.302-2. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation is being issued. However, information received will be considered solely for information purposes only. This procurement is not set-aside for small business. For contractual questions contact Beth West at llw5@cdc.gov.
