Description
Sloicitation should be posted within the next week. The objective of this contract is to increase forage production within deer winter range to achieve the desired forage/cover ratio by securing a complete set of services for performing juniper removal within established juniper stands in the Carr Allotment on national forest land. The project area contains 11 work units totaling 796 acres. The stands consist of pole size and old growth juniper. Within units, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, the juniper was cut approximately 2 years ago. Woodcutters have been cutting in the area along the main roads. The work is to be performed during a 2 year period. The locations on the Project Map are approximate and the locations on the ground take precedence over the locations on the Project Map. The Contractor shall, considering the specific tasks and sub-tasks involved, develop a plan of operations to accomplish the tasks and sub-tasks, and organize and direct all of the operations and personnel needed to fully accomplish the work. The Contractor shall furnish all technical expertise, labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals necessary to complete the project, except for that which the contract clearly states is to be furnished by the Government. Included Material within the work units shall be purchased from the Forest Service via a FS-2400-2 Timber Sale Contract. Upon award of the service contract the Contractor shall execute a 2400-2 Timber Sale Contract and pay one lump sum payment for all Included Material. Failure to pay for the included material within 30 days may be cause for termination of the service contract. See Exhibit D for a sample 2400-2 Timber Sale Contract if the material is removed as biomass. See Exhibits C and D for sample 2400-2 Timber Sale Contracts if the material is removed.
