Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number W81EWF-6198-7170 is being issued as a request for quotes (RFQ) with the intent to award as a simplified acquisition. The solicitation document and incorporated provisi on and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-11. This is 100% set aside for small businesses under NAICS Code 532490 (SIC 7359) with a size standard of $6.5 million . The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Engineer Researc h and Development Center (ERDC), has a requirement to rent four (4) 4,000-gallon water trucks equipped with a rear-mounted distribution bar and Three (3) 10,000-gallon minimum temporary water storage tanks. The specifications for the four 4,000 gallon wat er trucks include: (1) The rear-mounted distribution bar must be at least 8-ft and 12-ft plus spray bars are desirable, (2) The spray bar must be equipped with a minimum of 5 spray nozzles for the 8-ft length and an additional nozzle at least every 2-ft fo r the longer spray bars, (3) Each nozzle should have a minimum capacity of 30 gpm and capable of a minimum water pressure through the nozzles of 25 psi, and (4) Gravity fed distribution bars will not be acceptable, and all units should be equipped with com parable distribution bars, spray nozzles, and capacity limits for consistent water distribution. The specifications for the three 10,000 gallon minimum temporary water storage tanks include: (1) The tanks should be equipped with method of water disburseme nt, (2) The tanks can be elevated and use a gravity fed system or they can use a pump and distribution pipe/hose, (3) Each tank system must be capable of providing a minimum flow of 150 gpm, (4) Enough pipe or hose should be provided to easily fill the wat er trucks from the storage tanks if a pump system is used, and (5) A minimum hose/pipe length of 50 ft should be provided with each storage tank with enough capacity to maintain the 150 gpm requirement.
