Description
Notice of intent to award a sole source contract to Pan Abode Homes Inc., 4350 Lake Washington Blvd, Renton, WA 98056-1599. Pan Abode Homes Inc. will provide two (2) Custom Duplex Cabin kits to Katmai National Park & Preserve, Alaska (See General Description below). Under authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii), the value of the contract is expected to be under $500,000. The National Park Service Brooks Camp is growing to accommodate additional National Park Service employees. Additional cabins are required to meet this demand. Pan Abode Homes Inc. has designed a custom duplex cabin kit that minimizes the visual impact to the Brooks Camp area and is transportable in shipping containers to remote sites that can be erected by Park Service Personnel with minimal equipment and skills. This Notice of Intent is not a request for Expressions of Interest (EOIs), proposals or quotations. No solicitation document exists and no telephone inquiries will be accepted. No contract award will be made on the basis of EOIs, proposals or quotations received in response to this notice. This service will be procured under Firm Fixed Price Supplies in accordance with FAR 12 procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized under FAR 6.302-1. The anticipated award date is August 8, 2006. Point of contact for this acquisition is Mr. Andrew Toller at 907/644-3321 or email: Andrew_Toller@nps.gov. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, and should furnish detailed data (10 pages or less) concerning their capabilities to provide the supplies sought including pricing data and technical data sufficient enough to determine that a comparable source to the government is available. The Government will be the sole determiner regarding an offeror's ability to meet all requirements. The government will consider all EOIs received prior to 3 days after date of publication of this synopsis before 4:00 pm Pacific Standard Time on that date. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. EOIs sent via the U.S. Postal Service should be mailed to National Parks Service, Alaska Regional Office, Attn: Andrew Toller (AKRO-APM), 240 W. 5th Ave, Room 114, Anchorage, Alaska 99501. EOIs sent via Federal Express or hand carried must be delivered to the same address above during weekdays, excluding federal holidays, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. EOIs may be submitted via facsimile to Attn: Mr. Andrew Toller, Contract Specialist, at 907-644-3802. The facsimile transmission must clearly identify this notice and the name of the contracting officer on the first page. Submitters bear the burden of ensuring that the EOI reaches the designated contracting officer on time and should allow a reasonable time for facsimile transmissions to be completed. All pages of the transmission must reach the office before the deadline specified and pages of a facsimile transmission that arrive in the office after the specified deadline will not be considered. The submitter bears the risk of non-receipt of facsimile transmissions and should confirm by telephone that any facsimile was received. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Custom Duplex Cabin, 832 sq ft, includes: Floor system of: 2 x 8" joists, 3/4" plywood, structure to be classic timber custom 4 x 6 comprised of cedar milled, notched and grooved logs. Exterior doors to be metal, out swing , Stanley or equal, without window. Windows to be vinyl, almond in color double glazed, sliding horizontally. Interior walls/partitions to be classic log system interlocked logs identical to exterior walls. Interior finish will be the interlocked logs themselves with no additional covering. Interior casing/molding for base, doors, windows are to be clear cedar. Exterior barge/fascia to be rough cedar. Interior doors to be hollow core oak, roof rafters of glue lam beams, spaced 4-6' apart, roof deck of 2x6" flat laid tongue and groove decking with finish applied by government personnel. Building is NOT insulated. Roof covering to be metal by NORCLAD, color brown. Transportation costs from the factory to Northland Service Barge dock, Seattle, WA are to be included.
