- The issue date for the following solicitation is August 7, 2006. The U. S. Postal Service is soliciting proposals from prequalified contractors for the renovation of the Main Post Office located in Tulare CA. The basement is not included in the renovation except for removal and installation of a new boiler. The work will be done in phases. The first phase will complete by November 15th and the next phase will begin the first week of January 2007. The facility is approximately 15,600 SF. The project is to be completed in 180 days after notice to proceed. Estimated range is $900,000-$950,000. This is an owned facility. A pre-proposal conference will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on August 29th at the site. The proposal must contain the offerors overhead, profit, bonds, insurance, and all other contingencies. No allowance for such items will be made after contract award. Offers will not be publicly opened. All proposal information will remain confidential until award. This solicitation is being issued pursuant to the authority of the U. S. Postal Service Interim Internal Purchasing Guidelines issued 5/19/05. Project drawings may be viewed after 8/7/06 at the Barker Blue Digital Imaging ePlanroom at http://www.barkerbluedigital.com.
