Description

This project is located on the Big Trees Campground Road which is located approximately 12 miles west of Bishop, Ca., on State Highway 168. The project is to place 2 1/2" of hot bituminous pavement over government prepared aggregate base or existing pavement. Apply tack coat over existing pavement and construct 300 linear feet of asphalt curb. The base bid includes 980 tons and a bid option includes 210 tons of hot bituminous pavement. The campground road will be closed during the construction. The government estimate is between $100,000 and $250,000. Estimated start work date September 11, 2006, contract time 10 days. Estimated solicitation issue date August 3, 2006. NOTE: There will be a prebid meeting on Thursday, August 17th, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. Meet at the Big Trees Campground Road. Take Highway 168 (W. Line Street) west from downtown Bishop for 12 miles, turn left on the Big Trees Road. There will be flagging or other marking indicating Big Trees Road.
