Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will issue a request for quotation (RFQ) to acquire a 40 foot long gooseneck trailer. The trailer will be configured and outfitted to serve as a mobile deployment center. The trailer must be delivered to Winchester, VA 150 calendar days after accepting a purchase order. The salient physical, functional, or performance characteristics that the trailer must meet are specified in the RFQ. The trailer's features include but are not limited to the following: 40 feet lo ng, wide body, gooseneck trailer; twin axles; approximately 8 to 9 feet overall width; hydraulic gear landing assembly; crank down scissors type stabilizer jacks; electric brakes; swing down ramp type door; vinyl floor covering; insulated sidewalls and cei ling; desks with drawers; steel file cabinets; overhead cabinets; electrical receptacles; light fixtures; exterior telescoping quartz lights, roof mount air conditioner; roll up awning; 10Kw diesel generator with electric fuel pump in nose for refueling; m ounting deck for a satellite dish; RJ45 connections. The entire specification and list of features will be provided in the RFQ. Sketches will be provided with the RFQ. A purchase order will be issued to the responsible contractor submitting the lowest p riced technically acceptable (LPTA) quotation for the product that meets or exceeds the salient physical, functional, or performance characteristics. The vendor's past performance with providing trailers similar in size and scope to this item will be cons idered in the LPTA evaluation process. The Corps will evaluate the offered product on the basis of information furnished by the offeror or identified in the offer and reasonably available to the Contracting Officer. This acquisition is set aside 100% for small businesses. The applicable NAICS code is 336212 and the size standard is 500 employees. The tentative date for issuance of the RFQ is July 25, 2006. The tentative date for receipt of quotations is August 11, 2006. The tentative date to issue the purchase order is August 24, 2006. The request must reference the RFQ number and state the name of the company, email address, mailing and shipping addresses of the firm, telephone and fax numbers, and the name of the person to receive the RFQ. You may submit questions regarding the RFQ. Your questions must be in writing and may be faxed or email ed to the attention of Mr. Elder. Answers will be provided to all prospective offerors. Contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award of a contract.
