Description

U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) anticipates contracting with Telephonics Corporation, Communications Systems Division,815 Broad Hollow Road, Farmingdale NY 11735-3904, for upgrade of Star Com ICS Communications Select Control (CSC) Panel assemblies for the MH-47G helicopter. The proposed action is for services for which the Government does not own specifications and drawings to permit full and open competition. The Government will supply as GFE, the capacitors and resistors necessary for the contractor to perform the modifications. The Contractor will be responsible for the induction inspection of the serviceable GFE CSC units, disassembly, upgrade, re-assembly, functional test, packaging and shipment of the modified units back to the Government. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority FAR 6.302-1. Firms that feel they can provide this service are encouraged to identify themselves. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposal, however, the Government will consider all proposals received by the specified due date (in accordance with FAR 5.203(a)). A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition is solely within the discretion of the Government. The estimated release date of the solicitation is 24 July 2006.
