- The Department of Veterans Affairs has a requirement for Hotel Accommodations and Hotel services located in the geographic area of Milwaukee, WI. The Department of Veterans Affairs is a federal agency and therefore is exempt from any taxes. The tax exemption document will be provided upon award of contract. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Benefit Administration, Office of Employee Development and Training will be participating in the Challenge 2006-4 training during the period of August 8-Sep 1, 2006. The breakdown for hotel accommodations are as follows; Tuesday, Aug 8-3, Wednesday, Aug 9-3, Thursday, Aug 10-3, Friday, Aug 11-3, Saturday, Aug 12-3, Sunday, Aug 13-19, Monday, Aug 14-19, Tuesday, Aug 15-19, Wednesday, Aug 16-19, Thursday, Aug 17-19, Friday, Aug 18-19, Saturday, Aug 19-19, Sunday, Aug 20-19, Monday, Aug 21-19, Tuesday, Aug 22-19, Wednesday, Aug 23-19, Thursday, Aug 24-19, Friday, Aug 25-19, Saturday, Aug 26-19, Sunday, Aug 27-19, Monday, Aug 28-19, Tuesday, Aug 29-19, Wednesday, Aug 30-19, Thursday, Aug 31-19, Friday, Sep 1, 2006-check out. Based on the breakdown described, the total rooms requested are 376 each. PAYMENT FOR ROOMS SHALL BE VIA PURCHASE ORDER. The mandatory requirements are ADA compliant, contractor must posses Duns and Bradstreet number, registered with Central Contractor Registration (CCR), hotel must be within 8 miles of the training site (VARO Milwaukee, 5000 W. National Avenue, Bldg), hotel must be within ½ mile of restaurants and shopping at Brookfield Square Mall or have restaurants on site, individual /private sleeping rooms with toilet facilities smoke free and at government per diem rate for Milwaukee, WI, microwave and refrigerator in each room or access to them, no shuttle service between airport and hotel, access to internet, free parking, on site fitness center or access to one within 6 blocks, on site laundry services or one within 6 blocks, and no penalty for rooms not used. The specific instructions contained herein are intended to se rve as guideline for the preparation of the quotation. In developing the quotation, the Contractor shall comply with the requirements stated in the description. THE GOVERNMENT INTENDS TO AWARD WITHOUT DISCUSSIONS. Therefore, each contractor is urged to examine this request for quote in its entirety and to ensure that their quote contains all necessary information, provides all required documentation, and is complete in all aspects. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
