- Description
- 100% SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) has a requirement for a Clinical Neurophysiology Device. The objective of this acquisition is for the design, development, and delivery of an experimental control, data acquisition, and data analysis device for use in a variety of studies involving human subjects. Delivery of the finished device should be in the form of 2 complete systems with all required functions, and 2 additional systems which have data analysis capabilities only. The Clinical Neurophysiology researchers in NINDS perform similar types of experiments, with slightly different hardware required for capturing the signals of interest. The experiments are complex, and NINDS runs into the same problem of having to interface various pieces of equipment together to achieve what NINDS needs to do. This procurement is defined as code 334516 under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). Therefore, the applicable Small Business Size Standard for this procurement is 500 employees or less. See http://www.sba.gov/size/ for information on what is a Small Business and Part 121.106 of the SBA's Small Business Size Regulations on how the SBA calculates number of employees. All responsible sources that meet the applicable Small Business Size Standard may submit a proposal, which will be considered by the NIDA. The NIDA anticipates issuing one award for a 24-month completion-type contract. It is anticipated that the RFP will be available on or about July 30, 2006 through the FedBizOpps website at http://FedBizOpps.gov. The Government does not intend to release hard copies of the RFP. The Government also reserves the right to cancel this procurement at any time prior to contract award. This announcement does not commit the Government to award a contract.
