- Description
- The work involves furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, permits, and services necessary to replace/upgrade the existing HVAC system serving the approximately 70,000 S.F. main post office at Covington, KY, in accordance with USPS approved specifications and drawings. Base bid work includes replacing all of the existing air handlers and associated air distribution; replacing the existing steam boilers, converters, hot water pumps and piping; replacing the existing chilled water pumps and piping; installation of new DDC controls and replacing the remaining original windows. The replacement of the air handling units and modifications to the air distribution system will be phased in order to minimize downtime. The cooling plant will be modified during the heating season, while the heating plant will be replaced during the cooling season. The estimated construction cost of the project is between $1,300,000 and $1,600,000 with completion within 540 calendar days from receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Contractors must have a minimum of ten (10) years experience in HVAC upgrades and total replacements. Award will be based on price and evaluation factors that include past performance, experience, resources, and project management, as outlined in the solicitation package. Participation of minority and woman-owned business is encouraged. A PRE-PROPOSAL MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE SITE (POST OFFICE LOBBY) ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 9TH @ 10:00 A.M.
