- The Bureau of Indian Affairs is seeking potential Native Americam Firms, Small Businesses, and Indian Own contractors with the capabilitIies conduct and prepare individual biological assessments of active rock/quarry bars (?bars?) located on trust lands of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. The work is to be perform in Cherokee North Carolina. Currently there are 10 active bars of a size ranging from less than 1 acre to not more than 3 acres. The majority of these bars are less than 1 acre. Each of the areas around and in the bars needs to be assessed in terms of the Endangered Species Act of 1973 (P.L. 93-205). The contractor will survey the area around each bar to determine if any endangered or threatened species, as listed on the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service current list of endangered and threatened species, occur in the bar areas. All bars are accessible via roads and are widely scattered over the trust lands in heavily forested, hilly terrain.. Contractor personnel must be capable of navigating rugged, steep terrain. A map with specific locations will be provided. The response received from this posting will be used to compile a list of potential sources. Contractors must be qualified, licensed, and registored in the Central Contractor's Registration (CCR). Contractors can registor at www.ccr.gov. This is not a request for quotes, proposal, or invitation for bid. This posting's purpose is only to uncover potential sources. The Government is in no way obligated to do business with or to enter into in any form of contract with any person, firm or other entity that receives this inquiry. The inquiry neither states or implies that furture contracts will be awarded to persons, firms, or other entities responding to this inquiry. However, there may be possibility for future business if/when the Government has a need for this service.
