The Federal Enterprise Architecture Program Management Office invites you to attend a briefing for companies with Enterprise Architecture products and practices on Thursday, July 13, 2006 to discuss the Federal Transition Framework. Richard Burk, Chief Architect, Office of Management and Budget, will give the briefing. It will be held from 1:30p.m. ? 3:00 p.m. at the George Washington University (Continental Ballroom) Marvin Center - 800 21st Street, NW, Washington, D.C. The Federal Transition Framework (FTF) is a single information source for cross-agency information technology (IT) initiatives using a simple, familiar and organized structure. It contains government-wide IT policy objectives and cross-agency initiatives including OMB-sponsored initiatives, like E-Gov and LoB initiatives, and Government-wide initiatives, like Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6), Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12). By having a single source of information, agencies will receive more consistent, complete and detailed information about cross-agency initiatives more quickly to inform their enterprise architecture, capital planning and implementation activities. The Federal Government will also be able to increase the level and speed of adoption of cross-agency initiatives and increase the sharing and reuse of common, cross-agency business processes, service components and technology standards. This meeting will provide a presentation of the FTF catalog, metamodel, and usage guide. The presentation will be followed by both a general and technical discussion. Enterprise Architecture tool vendors are encouraged to attend and discuss their interest in incorporating the FTF into their product. The agenda will be: 1:00 p.m.? 1:30 p.m. ?
