- NAVSEA, INDIAN HEAD Divison, Attachment PHST, Earle, NJ., has a requirement for three (3) different types of storage and shipping containers. Shipping container #1: CNU-415D/E requirements the contractor to have experience in creating large aluminum containers that can maintain a pressure seal. The fabrication of these containers involve extensive welding of aluminum and aluminum extrusions, while maintaining tight tolerances. The containers must be capable of providing a hermetic seal. Shipping container #2: The CNU-492/E shipping and storage container designed to accommodate an AV-8/B Ammo Pak and is a rectangular, reusable container of extruded aluminum construction. The container is comprised of two major assemblies: a removable cover assembly and a base assembly mounted to and supported by aluminum skids. The base assembly includes a shock isolation system which will protect the ammo pak from the shock and vibration hazards associated with transportation and handling. The cover and base assemblies shall be interfaced with a sealing gasket and joined together with over-the-center tension-type latches. The container?s handling provisions consist of side forklift pockets and four hoisting/tiedown rings. Shipping container #3:The CNU-493/E shipping and storage container designed to accommodate an AV-8/B Gun Pak and is a rectangular, reusable container of extruded aluminum construction. The container is comprised of two major assemblies: a removable cover assembly and a base assembly mounted to and supported by aluminum skids. The base assembly includes a shock isolation system which will protect the gun pak from the shock and vibration hazards associated with transportation and handling. The cover and base assemblies shall be interfaced with a sealing gasket and joined together with over-the-center tension-type latches. The container?s handling provisions consist of side forklift pockets and four hoisting/tiedown rings. The contract award will be based on all items or none. Only one award. T he solicitation will include a Source Selection Plan. This will be a Base year contract with four (4) option years. The quantity for the base year for container #1 is 228 plus one first article. containers #2 and #3 quantities will be 50 each for base year. The option quantities will be determine when the solicitation is issued. The delivery shedule will be in section F of the solicitation. The ship to address will be in the solicitation all contractor must proposed F.O.B Destination. The procurement is set-a-side for small business only. The federal supply code is 8140 and the NAICS code is 332439. This solicitation will be available for downloading from our website beginning approximately 18 July 2006. Prior to this date, you will not be able to access this solicitation. When available, copies of this solicitation can only be obtained from the Navsea, Indian Head Internet web page.
