Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, John D. Dingell Medical Center, 4646 John R. Street, Detroit, Michigan 48201, will issue an Invitation for Bid for renovation of Nursing Home Care Unit. This procurement is a set aside for service disabled veteran owned small business participation only. The public bid opening will be on July 27, 2006 at 10:00a.m. at the VAMC Detroit, MI, Acquisition Conference Room, B4213, 4th floor, red building. A site visit will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2006 at 9:00a.m. in the same room as the bid opening, B4213. The contractor shall provide all labor, material and supervision to complete the Palliative Care project within 90 days from notice to proceed. Offers are not being solicited at this time. The solicitation will be available for downloading, on or about the issue date of June 29, 2006 from the VA Office of Acquisition and Material Managements (O&AMM) internet website at http://www.va.gov/oamm/busopp/sols.htm. PRIOR TO COMMENCING WORK, GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE PROOF THAT A OSHA CERTIFIED "COMPENTENT PERSON" (CP)(29CFR 1926.20)(B)(2) WILL MAINTAIN A PRESENCE AT THE WORK SITE WHENEVER THE GENERAL OR SUBCONTRACTORS ARE PRESNET. ALL EMPLOYEES OF GENERAL CONTRACTOR OR SUBCONTRACTOR SHALL HAVE THE 10 HOUR OSHA CERTIFIED CONSTRUCTION SAFETY COURSE AND/OR OTHER RELEVANT COMPETENCY TRAINING.
