- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center is seeking qualified sources that can provide various General Motors Corp., Electro-Motive Div.(EMD) parts in support of the 378 FT WHEC Post FRAM Class Vessel Ship Service Generator Diesel Engines. The Ship Service Generator Diesel Engine is an integral and critical part of the electrical system on board the Post FRAM WHEC 378?s. The EMD engines are extremely intricate pieces of equipment which serve to turn the generators which in turn supplies electrical power on these ships. Delivery shall be 45-90 calendar days after receipt of delivery order. Delivery shall be F.O.B. destination to the U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center, Receiving Room, Bldg. 88, 2401 Hawkins Point Road, Baltimore, MD 21226-5000. A requirements type contract with one (1) base year and four (4) option years is anticipated. It is the Government?s belief that only General Motors Corp., Electro-Motive Division or its authorized distributors possess the required capabilities to manufacture the parts used to overhaul the engines or perform preventive maintenance are of exact form, fit, and function to the parts being replaced. All reproduction manufacturing drawings, specifications and other technical data pertaining to the various parts are not available within the government and are proprietary to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), General Motors Corp., Electro-Motive Division. However, other potential sources having the expertise and required capabilities can submit such data discussing the same in duplicate within 15 days from date of this announcement. The following information must be provided to evaluate the acceptability of the offered parts: 1) Complete and current engineering data to demonstrate the acceptability of the offered parts (i.e. salient physical, functional characteristics, or 2) Data that offered parts have been satisfactorily manufactured for the Government or the original equipment manufacturer. No cost or pricing is required. See Numbered Note 22. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by the agency. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION.
