Description

This is a COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in the notice and following the Simplified Acquisition Procedures in FAR Part 13.5. This requirement is a small business set aside. The U. S. Department of the Interior, National Business Center, on behalf of Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH (US Air Force), intends to make a firm-fixed price award to the successful offeror. Real Time Location Systems (RTLSs) have proven to be value added tools for the asset tracking and management of many commercial activities. Trucking, warehousing, and commercial aviation enterprises have all benefited from the use of RTLS tools in managing access and real time location of high dollar assets. The United States Air Force is in need of improved tracking of Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) and believes that the proven capabilities of RTLS may be an avenue for possible use in tracking and locating AGE on an Air Force flightline. Under the direction of Headquarters, Air Education Training Command (HQ AETC), this Performance Work Statement (PWS) describes the effort to be conducted by an Air Force Automatic Identification Technology Program Management Office (AF AIT PMO) contractor to expand on its initial AGE RTLS survey initiative at Luke AFB, AZ. The Government will use the WhereNet RTLS system at Luke AFB AZ for this effort. The contractor shall design, install, and configure the system in four phases: Phase 1: design validation/finalization Phase 2: hardware/software configuration Phase 3: verify RTLS system coverage area, and Phase 4: system configuration and asset tagging.
