Description
This is a Request for Quote (RFQ) and sources sought request for the following construction project. 1. This RFQ encompassed two aspects. First, is for eight proposed canopies measuring 65? L x 55? W x 22? H so as to fit eight fighter aircraft at the NAS JRB Fort Worth, TX. They will be placed over eight aircraft parking spots on our flight line. The new parking spots will be spaced 63.5 feet apart and turned 21.5 degrees to exceed the 10-foot minimum clearance from each wing tip to the canopy?s vertical steel beams. The main taxiway lines must be at least 50 feet from any object. Construction shall include eight vertical beams made from 6? diameter pre-fabricated rolled steel that are welded to a 12? x 12? steel base plate. Each of the steel bases are anchor bolted to the flight line parking ramp concrete slab. The anchor bolts will be inserted through the steel base and fastened with a 1? nut. A 3.5? diameter horizontal support I-beam will run the 65-foot length of the canopy frame along each side with support braces located in the middle and on top to add strength. There will be four 55-foot long I-beam rafters spaced 21 to 22 feet apart that are attached to the top of the eight vertical beams to form the main framework of the roof. On the top of the rafters will be the roofing framework spaced at six foot intervals. The 80% sunscreen will be bolted on to the top of the framework. Must be 80% approved sunscreen made of a fireproof synthetic nylon called Textiline manufactured by the Twitchell Corporation or equal. The canopies must have the ability to be unbolted from the concrete slab and disassembled within a minimum amount of time for assembly in another area if necessary. The color of the canopy frames will be a light stone color to match the surrounding buildings and the sunscreen will be a desert tan color. White reflective tape will be wrapped around the outside of the 6? vertical beams for visibility at night. Price shall detail the delivered cost of the shelters and installation. 2. The second aspect of this RFQ is the disassembly and re-assembly of six (6) existing shelters to a nearby location approximately 25 meters away. This request is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). Submit written offers to Debbie Ripkowski at FAX #: (817) 782-5371 or email at Deborah.Ripkowski@carswell.af.mil
