- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number 03-349B-6-6185 is being issued as a request for quotation. The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-09. This acquisition is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. The North American Industry Classification System code for this procurement is 339111 and the small business size is 500. The USDA, Appalachian Farming Systems Research Center (AFSRC) requires a Contractor to furnish, deliver, and install a new Steam Sterilizer System. The System will be used for sterilization of biological waste products before disposal and for preparation of sterile media, equipment, and supplies utilized in research. Companies with the demonstrated capability and financial capacity to provide the items specified are invited to respond to this request. The contractor is responsible for monitoring the FBO website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov for any additional information relating to this requirement. (A.1) SCOPE OF WORK - The USDA, AFSRC requires a new Steam Sterilizer System to be furnished, delivered, and installed at the USDA, AFSRC facility in Beaver, West Virginia, in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in this document. (A.2) SCHEDULE OF ITEMS -- Contractor shall provide separate price for each line item. -- Line Item 0001 ? Steam Sterilizer System (New) in accordance with the following specifications: (a) System shall fit into a space not to exceed the following dimensions: 87? wide x 108? height x 56? depth; (b) System chamber must have one door and a minimum of one shelf; (c) System chamber must have a minimum chamber size of 20 inches wide x 20 inches height x 36 inches depth capable of accommodating up to six Nalgene autoclaveable pans that are 12 inches length x 14 inches width x 6 inches height; (d) System shall include electrical steam generator; (e) System shall be capable of running off of existing electrical supply - 110V and 208V 3-phase; (f) Training manuals shall be supplied; (g) One year on-site warranty to include parts and labor; (h) FOB Destination within Consignee?s premises. Line Item 0001A ? Installation shall be done at 1224 Airport Road, Beaver, West Virginia 25813 to be completed within 30 days of delivery. (Installation is required.) Line Item 0002 ? Optional Extended One Year Parts and Labor Warranty (A.3) SHIPPING, DELIVERY, INSTALLATION ? Delivery shall be made in accordance with FAR Clause 52.247-35, F.O.B. Destination, Within Consignee?s Premises. Contractor shall coordinate the delivery date and time with the point of contact. Shipment shall be to: USDA, ARS, Appalachian Farming Systems Research Center (AFSRC), 1224 Airport Road, Beaver, West Virginia 25813. Delivery and Installation shall be within the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays. All work shall be completed within 120 days after contract award. (A.4) WARRANTY ? The period of the warranty shall begin upon acceptance. The Contractor shall provide a copy of the detailed warranty with their offer. (A.5) EVALUATION CRITERIA The Government contemplates award of a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer represents the best value to the Government, price and other factors considered. (A.6) PRODUCT LITERATURE Each offeror shall furnish literature or other documentation which shows how the offered product meets or exceeds the requirements as specified under A.2 Schedule of Items.
