Description

The National Institute on Aging, IRP, intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis with The Regents of the University of Michigan, 3003 South State Street, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48109 for project entitled "Statistical Genetic Analyses of Data from the SardiNIA Project". The primary scientific question addressed by the SardiNIA study is to determine whether the identification of genetic risk factors involved in complex aging-associated conditions and disorders can be facilitated in the "founder" (less genetically heterogeneous) population of Sardinia. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code is 541690 and the size standard is 500 employees. This acquisition is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition procedures and is exempt from the requirement of FAR, Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Govenrment.
