Description

This is a notice of intent to modify an existing Department of Commerce (DoC) ?commercial item? contract to include support for the Department of Energy (DoE). The DoC currently has a contract with the Bulletin News Network Inc, in McLean, VA to provide daily (7 days) per week) publication of news pertaining to the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Federal Government and international issues. The DoE requires similar support (i.e. publication of news pertaining toe the U.S. Department of Energy) and anticipates the award of such a contract. Until such time as the DoE contract award is made, the DoC will modify its contract to include support for DoE. A period of performance of approximately four months is anticipated. This modification is being issued under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 (c )(1), only one responsible source, which applies when the services required by the agency are only available form one responsible source and no other type of services will satisfy the agency?s needs. Since this is a modification to an existing contract, the services described herein can only be obtained from the current contractor, Bulletin News Network. This is a temporary arrangement until the DoE contract is awarded. Responses to this notice must be received no later than ten days after publication of this notice and shall be submitted via email to Carol Silverman, Contracting Officer, at csilverman@doc.gov. The DoC anticipates issuance of this modification on or after July 2, 2006. All responses received from responsible sources shall be considered by the agency.
