Description
The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District in preparing a solicitation to award a contract for Main Unit 13 Rewedge at Bonneville Dams Second Powerhouse located on the Columbia River in Skamania County, in the state of Washington. The work in cludes furnishing supervision, engineering, labor, materials, plant, and equipment to completely rewedge Unit 13 generator stator. The work will be performed during a 30-day period. The Government will disassemble and make the unit available to the contrac tor. The Government will also reassemble the unit. The Contractor shall: 1. Provide a complete set of stator slot wedges and side packing. 2. Perform full inspection of the stator core and winding, make recommendations for any additional work needed e.g. w inding ties, iron repair, ring bus blocking, etc. 3. Perform electrical tests on the winding before work starts. 4. Side pack slots where possible and install new wedges. 5. Paint stator assembly and buswork. 6. Perform final electrical tests. 7. S ilver plate the main and neutral leads. 8. Provide, install and test the PDA coupling. 9. Inspect, clean, paint, and test field winding. 10. Perform the EL-CID tests of the stator core (Optional). 11. Replace the existing stator Resistance Temperat ure Detector (RTD) cables with new cables and test (Optional). 12. Remediate for any asbestos found during the performance of the contract. A Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) shall be provided for all new contracts with the U.S. Army Corps of Engine ers, Portland District. For this project the person that will act as the SSHO is required to have a minimum of 3 years safety work with simil ar projects and a 30 Hour OSHA construction safety class, or equivalent, taken within the last 3 years. The SSHO m ay have other duties for this work that include being the Contractor on-site Project Manager and/or the on-site CQC Manager or other responsible individual. The magnitude of construction for this procurement is $500,000 to $1,000,000. This is a Best Value Procurement. Evaluation and rating factors will be included in the solicitation when issued.
