Description

Contractor shall provide labor, equipment, materials, testing services to safely and totally demolish the existing smokestack located adjacent to Building 12 (Boilerplant) at the VA Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre. Work includes asbestos removal of breeching insulation material located both inside and outside the boilerlant, removal and safe disposal of residue ash located at grade level inside of smokestack, removal of the entire masonry structure (including top foot of foundation and adjacent curbing) new pavement at the footprint of the smaokestack and new brickwork at the exterior wall opening left by removal of breeching. The anticipated completion time for this project is 30 calendar days after the notice to proceed and the government estimate cost range is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. The solicitation is 100% Set-aside for Small Business Concerns capable of performing the required work. The NAICS code for this procurement is 238190. Bid documents will be available o/a 6/28/06. Interested bidders must submit WRITTEN REQUESTS ONLY to Contracting Officer, VA Medical Center, 1111 East End Blvd., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711. Fax #570-821-7277. Telephone calls will not be accepted. A walk-thru will be conducted on July 12 @10am from Room C6-1. All respondents must be registered in Central Contractor Registration database at www.ccr.gov. Bid documents will be issued on a first come first serve basis until supply is exhausted. Bid opening will be held on July 28, 2006 at 2:30 PM. Award is subject to availability of funds.
