Description
The FAA Northwest Mountain Region is seeking sources for three (3) Portable signal light guns with rechargeable battery and charger for voiceless communications between aircraft and aircraft control tower. Units must be lightweight with easy push-button lamp activation and color selection. Integral sight for fast, accurate aiming of gun at aircraft. Fiber optic display to show user which color has been selected. Charger unit charges the light gun and serves as a base for storage of the gun until ready for use. Charge time of approximately one hour. Light gun must have capability of connecting to an external 14 volt DC, 10 amp power supply. Additional light gun specifications: 1. Visibility up to 6.6km (3.6 nm) under clear daytime conditions. 2. Red, green and white colors (standard aviation signaling colors). 3. Light intensity of 200,000 candles at center of light beam. 4. Intermittent or continuous operation activated by color-coded back-lit pushbuttons. 5. Design and construction must comply with United States Federal Aviation Administration FAA-E-2214a specifications. ATI Avionics Model 901 Signal Light Gun and Model 951C Charger or equal item. Responses to this market survey must be received in this office not later than June 16, 2006.
