Description

1. Project: Barracks Exterior Cleaning, Surface Preparation, and Painting Work: Contractor to paint all exterior surfaces on all four levels of the Barracks excluding all decorative block and textured block work, roof tiles, roof and floor. Section of Barracks to be painted SHALL include exterior passage way walls, ceiling and framing areas on levels two, three and four; stairwells, ceiling and support columns on 1st level, exterior steel doors, and all non-textured/decorative surfaces on the building exterior. Areas to be painted shall be prepared by pressure washing and/or acid wash. Areas of the concrete block walls exhibiting spalling will have area cleared of loose concrete, corrosion inhibitor applied to the exposed rebar metal, then patched to even surface with surrounding area, primed and painted. All exposed exterior plumbing/pipes shall be cleaned, corrosion inhibitor applied to metal piping and metal supports, then primed and painted with appropriate paint. Remove corrosion from/clean metal doors then prime and paint with commercial corrosion inhibiting paints. All painting shall consist of no less than 2 coats and be made of a durable, long-lasting exterior paint that adheres well to surface to which applied. 2. Contractor must use own means of reaching upper parts of building exterior. 3. Contractor responsible for covering areas not to be painted 4. U.S. Coast Guard requires inspection of work at time of completion.
