- The purpose of this modification is to change the quantities. This item is being considered for an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract, with a two-year basic plus one, one year unpriced option period The proposed contract is anticipated to be sole source to General Electric. NSN: 2840-01-527-7720PR, Part Number: 2255M71G01, Noun: COMBUSTION CHAMBER. Item Description: Cylindrical chamber with inner and outer liner, dome, and cowl. 20 fuel nozzle swirlers. Function of the combuster is to mix fuel and air for combustion and contain the combustion process. The dimensions are 7.447 inches in overall length minimum and 7.527 inches maximum. Diameter: 29.815 inches nominal. Material is HS188. Destination: To be cited on individual orders. BEQ for 2-year Basic Period: 704 ea; Min Qty for Basic Period: 213 ea; Max Qty for Basic Period: 743 ea; BEQ for Option Year 1: 159 ea; Min Qty for Option Year 1: 0 ea; Max Qty for Option Yr 1: 183 ea; Delivery: To be stated in solicitation amendment. Qualification Requirements: Sources must be qualified prior to being considered for award. The solicitation will contain instructions for obtaining further information on this requirement. The approximate response date of the solicitation will be 5 Jun 2006. The anticipated award date will be 31 AUG 2006. Written and electronic procedure will be used for this solicitation. No telephone requests. The solicitation must be printed from FedBizOps by the contractor. This office will not mail solicitations. All responsible sources solicited may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered. Award will be made only if the offeror, the product/service, or the manufacturer meets qualification requirements at the time of award in accordance with FAR clause 52.209-1. The solicitation will identify the office where additional information can be obtained concerning qualification requirements. Based upon market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the described supplies or services. However, interested persons may identify to the contracting officer their interest and capability to satisfy the Government's requirement with a commercial item within 15 days of this notice. While price will be a significant factor in the evaluation of offers, the final contract award decision may be based upon a combination of price and past performance factors as detailed in the solicitation. Note: The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one, or a limited number of sources under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty five-days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Note: It is suggested that small business firms or others interested in subcontracting opportunities in connection with the described procurement make contact with the firm(s) listed. Note: Specifications, plans, or drawings relating to the procurement described are incomplete or not available and cannot be furnished by the Government. Note: An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential Offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition.
