Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Fluoresentic, Incorporation, Park City, UT for Multiplex Real-Time PCR Assay for the Detection of Botulinum Toxin Genes A through G. The Botulism Publish Health Research and Preparedness Laboratory is in the process of validating a multiplex real-time PCR assay capable of detecting the genes of botulinum toxin types A through G using the lightcycler platform. The PCR assays described were developed by the vendor and no other vendor can produce the assay since some of the primer and prove sequences are proprietary. Assay must contain the identical oligonucleotide sequences, PCR conditions, specificity, and sensitivity as that developed by the vendor. This assays will be utilized by laboratories responding to intentional or unintentional outbreaks of botulism. CDC believes that this requirement is met by only one provider. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 6.302-2. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation is being issued. However, information received will be considered solely for information purposes only. This procurement is not set-aside for small business.
