- Pre-Bid Notice - NAIC code 562910 for procurement of environmental remediation services at the 10th Street Site OU2 in Columbus, NE. The site consists of an aquifer contaminated with chlorinated volatile organic compounds, primarily tetrachloroethylene (PCE) and trichloroethylene (TCE). Depth to groundwater is approximately 15 feet below ground surface (bgs). The objective of this contract is to attain the maximum contaminant level (MCL) for PCE, TCE, and cis-1,2-dichloroethylene (DCE). For PCE and TCE, the MCL is 5 ug/l. The MCL for cis-1,2-DCE is 70 ug/l. The selected remedy for this site is in-situ chemical oxidation. The contract will provide for quarterly chemical injections at numerous sites along the plume until the MCL is achieved. The contractor shall be required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Remediation shall be conducted pursuant to the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), as amended by the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA), and National Contingency Plan (NCP) requirements. EPA anticipates issuing a fixed price performance based contract with options. Estimated dollar vlaue for this contract if all options are exercised is $1.5M. The IFB is anticipated to be issued on or about July 17, 2006. The IFB will be posted at: www.epa.gov/oam/regions/index.htm.
