- Description
- The FAA is seeking qualified firms to perform the following HVAC and electrical work at the Detroit AirTraffic Control Tower, Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, Detroit, Michigan. The scope of work consists of but is not limited to the following: Electrical: Provide all labor and material to provide power connection to various electrical units, dehumidifier and other miscellaneous work as described on the project drawings. Mechanical - ATCT GENERAL MECHANICAL WORK 1. Furnish and install Unit Heaters (UH-14) in ATCT Shaft Level 3 through level 10 Provide Piping, Valves, insulation and thermostats. Furnish and install Packaged dehumidifiers in ATCT Shaft from level 3 through level 10 and drain lines. Furnish and install rubber seals, insect screens and caulk around outside louvers for AHU-11, AHU-12, AHU-13 and AHU-14. Furnish and install electric pre-heater inside AHU-12 &13 outside air 54"x 66" ductwork and connect heaters to the digital controller to be monitored. Demolish and remove ASDE Split Systems Air handling unit/condenser (AH-15); Furnish and install 5 tons split systems air handling unit with outdoors condenser (AH-15), refrigerant piping, valves, heating component, piping insulation and controls; provide ??" vapor barrier insulation for the entire ductwork of AH-15 unit. Saw and cut supply/return penetration for AH-16 Package wall unit; Furnish 5 tons Packaged wall unit, supply/return grilles and accessories; install Direct Digital Control points for AH-15 and AH-16; Connect DDC point to Global Controller to be monitored. 2. Demolish and remove existing BARBER COLMAN Network 8000, Controllers and accessories. Furnish and install open system direct digital network and Controller fully BACKNET AND LONWORKS compatible. Furnish and install static pressure sensor capable of reading pressure in the CAB space; connect static pressure control with the facilities DDC systems. 3. Demolish and remove existing ATCT hot water loop dielectric union; furnish and install new gasket dielectric unions. Demolish and remove exhaust fan and ducts on level 10. 4. Furnish equipment and accessories to perform the following: Duct cleaning of HVAC systems, Air/water balance, and water treatment of the entire ATCT. Provide training for the new facility Direct Digital control systems, submit air/water balance, water treatment reports to the FAA Resident Engineer on Site. Offer range is between $250,000 and $500,000 with a performance time of approximately 120 calendar days. Construction start is anticipated for fall 2006. Upon completion of evaluation process, only those firms determined to be qualified will be sent a Request for Offer (RFO). The RFO is anticipated to be available by July/August 2006. FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
