- Description
- The Air Force Research Laboratory as an agent of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) intends to solicit and negotiate with the MEMS Industry Group (MIG) to provide technical support for the MEMS Technology Roadmap and Industry Congress (METRIC) 2006 conference, which will be held in Pittsburgh PA. The technical requirement for METRIC is access to a wide range of companies and individuals engaged in the technical and business aspects of the MEMS Industry. These individuals shall, over two days, address specific questions about issues related to MEMS integration. They shall use the information generated from working groups that will have met numerous times over the summer to produce a body of knowledge to be used in discussion. Related to METRIC are two sub-projects. The first is the Cost Assessment Tool. To complete Phase III, the deliverable from Phase II shall be procured from the contractor and tested by a group of MEMS Industry Group members during the METRIC 2006 conference. After test, the final tool will become web-enabled by an additional subcontractor and made available to DARPA. The second sub-project is the Curriculum Development project, which shall be carried out under the supervision of a DARPA appointed consultant. Using the survey and data already collected by MIG, an analysis and plan to move forward shall be written by the consultant with assistance from the MEMS Industry Group. This notice is for informational purposes only. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). Contractors capable of offering this technology must respond 15 days after publication of this notice and will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete with the proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
