- The Department of Education requires various meeting space and lodging, to include a AV services, in Washington, DC during 18 June 2006 through 23 June 2006. All responsible sources are invited to submit a quote that, if received prior to the closing date, shall be considered by the Department of Education. The Department of Education (ED) seeks to procure for the Office of Migrant Education (OME), located in the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE), the service of a hotel in Washington, DC during the period June 18, 2006 through June 23, 2006, to provide sleeping rooms, meeting space, audio visual equipment and selected miscellaneous support for the FY 2006 discretionary grant competitions under the High School Equivalency Program (HEP), and the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP). Approximately 33 persons will be involved daily on site in this review activity. Specific service required for these grant competitions are: a) 27 lodging rooms beginning 18 June 2006, of which 11 rooms will be vacated on June 23 2006, and the remaining 16 rooms will be vacated on June 24, 2006; b) one plenary meeting room is required on the mornings (7:30 a.m. to 12 noon) of June 19 and June 21, 2006, of which must seat up to 30 participants in a classroom style, with head-table presentation space; c) six panel rooms for five days (June 19-23) that are capable of accommodating five reviewers working on paper grant discussions, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; d) one staff room to include a table / desk for four OME staff members, daily from 7:30a.m. to 6:00 p.m., for overseeing and managing daily panel review business; e) one control room with ten tables and adequate space for staff to manage and distribute over 500 documents among the reviewers, June 19-23, 2006; f) audio-visual overhead projector/screen, table/stand for use on June 19, and June 21, 2006; and g) photocopying of 100 document sheets. Evaluation Criteria: Proposals will be evaluated on a lowest-price, technically acceptable basis.
