Description
Togus VA Medical Center, Augusta, Maine intends to negotiate a commercial service sole source contract with Northeast Mechanical Corp, 139 Cash Street, South Portland, ME 04106. The clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-09. Only one responsible source has been identified for this project. The contractor has to be a representative of the manufacturer Cleaver-Brooks, be within 100 miles of Togus and be able to complete this project by September 30th. According to the manufacturer Northeast Mechanical is the only company in Maine and New Hampshire that is an authorized representative of the manufacturer. A justification for other thean full and open competitition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. This service is to replace 124-D tubes in a Cleaver Brooks DL58-RH steam boiler with incidental and related work to bring the unit to its original operating condition. The government intends to award a firm fixed priced contract for this service. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit a proposal. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The applicable NAICS Code is 238220 and applicable size standard is $13.0 million. All proposals received by 1:00 PM EST, June 16, 2006 will be considered by the government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
