Description

This is a notice of intent to contract with the Israeli Aircraft Industries, Incorporated on an other than full and open competitive basis for the production of the V-22 Improved Troop Seats, Part Number NGV422000-505 (for use in MV-22 and CV-22 model aircraft). The effort will be procured pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, ?Only One Responsible Source? and the resultant contract will be awarded as firm-fixed priced. Israeli Aircraft Industries, Incorporated is the original seat manufacturer and sole source producer of the V-22 Improved Troop Seat and is therefore, the only responsible source that currently possesses sufficient requisite system knowledge, engineering expertise, aircraft integration information, and the technical data required to manufacture the V-22 Improved Troop Seat for the MV-22 and CV-22 model aircraft. No other source has the technical qualifications, experience and/or necessary resources to perform the work described herein, nor will any other supplies or services satisfy the Department of Navy?s requirements. The period of performance for the contract will include a base year and one option year.
