- Description
- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dockside Repairs to the USCGC BARBARA MABRITY (WLM-559). The acquisition will be solicited Total Small Business Set-Aside. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about May 30, 2006. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. Please sign up for the Auto Notification service to receive e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested. Send all requests via e-mail Wendy.J.Culbreth@uscg.mil. The standard industrial classification code is 3732 and the NAICS is 336611. The homeport of the vessel is C/O Coast Guard Group Mobile, South Broad Street, Mobile, AL 36615. All work will be performed at the vessels homeport. The performance period is thirty-two (32) calendar days with a start date on or about 12 June 2006. The scope of the acquisition is for (1) Clean and Inspect HPU Oil Reservoir, (2) Perform Anchor Windlass Maintenance, (3) Perform Buoy Crane Maintenance. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. The USCGC BARBARA MABRITY is a 175 Foot Coastal Buoy Tender homeported in Mobile, AL. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 500, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request [ten days from solicitation issuance]. MLCA must have ten (10) days advance notice to complete a CD-ROM set of drawings. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings.
