Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) intends to have University of Camerino, Department of Experimental Medicine and Public Health Science , Division of Pharmacology, Via Scalzino 3, Camerino 62032, ITALY on a sole source basis, perform in vivo experiments ? MSP Rat, laboratory and testing services. Authority: 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or service will satisfy agency requirements. Because of the quarantine requirements and the nature of behavioral experiments, these rats cannot be shipped to the NIH, NIAAA, LCTS for in vivo experiments. Instead, chemicals they will be sent to Professor Ciccocioppo at the University of Camerino in blinded form and his laboratory will carry out behavioral experiments to assess spontaneous alcohol consumption, operant self-administration of alcohol, and stress-induced reinstatement of alcohol seeking behavior, in the msP animals, and, for comparison, in regular Wistar animals. Raw data will be delivered to the NIH, NIAAA, LCTS for analysis. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 22 days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
