Description
The purpose of this Screening Information Request (SIR) is to seek competent and qualified contractors for the National Network Control Center (NNCC) Fire Sprinkler Installation Project at the Salt Lake City Air Route Traffic Control Center, in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Screening Information Request (SIR) is a Total Small Business Set-Aside (NAICS 238220). Description of Work: 1.1 Scope of work.- These specifications, together with the referenced specifications, standards, and drawings specified in the Contract Documents, cover the requirements for all work associated with the National Network Control Center (NNCC) Fire Sprinkler Installation at 2150 West 700 N. (Building 2), Salt Lake City, UT 84116. Following is the scope of work: Develop performance specifications and drawings for the design/build of the fire protection system for the NNCC Building first and second floors. Each floor shall be protected as an individual zone. The first and second floors shall be protected by pre-action, double interlock sprinkler systems, which will integrate with the existing Fike fire alarm panel. The existing Fike fire alarm panel shall be modified as necessary to include the additional detectors for the double interlock system. The design shall also include the installation of the FIRETRACE fire suppression system at the identified critical equipment. The new FIRETRACE system shall communicate with the existing fire alarm panel. The FIRETRACE cylinders and tubing shall be Government furnished. The Fike fire alarm panel shall interface with the existing fire alarm control panel in the ARTCC building. Provide outputs from the Fike Fire Alarm panel in the NNCC to the existing fire alarm system at the ARTCC for annunciation at the SOCC desk. Outputs shall be for Trouble, Supervisory and Alarm. Trenching through the existing parking lot is necessary to connect to the existing underground water pipe at the southwest corner of the NNCC building. The parking lot shall be patched and repaired to match existing conditions. The riser and pre-action system trim shall be located in room 105. The riser shall continue up to the second floor in room 209. This will require moving the two existing vending machines and the installation of a new fire-rated wall and door in room 105 in order to limit access to authorized personnel to the new fire sprinkler trim. A design review period of one month shall be included for the review of the Fire Sprinkler Contractor's design prior to the start of construction. All work must be coordinated in order to maintain an operational facility. The total contract duration for completion of all work shall be 120 calendar days. Perspective bidders MUST perform a site visit to assess the actual conditions before submitting a bid. Site visits can be arranged by contacting Chuck Adams at 801-320-2380.
